The first cooling and UPF 50+ hijab for outdoor sports with no-slip coverage, easy adjustability, helmet compatibility, and a secure fit for exercise and everyday use.

The ActiveIce Hijab is the technical outdoor hijab built with climbers, skiers, mountaineers, and hikers in mind. Growing up climbing in Malaysia, Outdoor Research Product Manager Sara Nazim saw an opportunity to build a truly technical hijab that eliminates the need for pins for a secure fit.
This helmet-optimized hijab has a fitted stretchy knit around the face. The hidden shock cord back adjustment cinches the hijab down for high exertion activity and keeps hair off the neck. The ActiveIce™ cooling fabric combined with lightweight UPF50+ sun protection makes this hijab perfect for all day in the outdoors.
We collaborated with Marjana Tafader of Young Women Who Crush in the development of this project, from ideation, to design, to testing. Our prototyping included both athletes and our hijab-wearing manufacturing team in Indonesia, as well as fit sessions on different head sizes and hair types. The result is the technical hijab for outdoor sports.

En grandissant en escalade en Malaisie, Sara Nazim, chef de produit Outdoor Research, a vu une opportunité de construire un hijab vraiment technique qui élimine le besoin d’épingles pour un ajustement sûr.
Ce hijab optimisé pour un casque a un tricot extensible ajusté autour du visage. L’ajustement arrière caché du cordon de choc serre le hijab vers le bas pour une activité intense et maintient les cheveux hors du cou. L’ActiveIce® Le tissu rafraîchissant combiné à une protection solaire légère UPF50+ rend ce hijab parfait pour toute la journée à l’extérieur.
